EDUCATIONAL SUPPORT PERSONNEL – SUPPORT
POSITION: Computer Technician
QUALIFICATIONS: Working knowledge of computer systems and networks. Strong
communication and organizational skills.
REPORTS TO: Director of Technology
JOB FUNCTION: Install and maintain district network, hardware, software, materials
and applications to ensure full and productive use of technology
systems. Maintain the district website. Serve as a resource regarding
the purchase of hardware and software.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Perform routine maintenance and updates of system hardware, software and network.
- Solve problems promptly which arise related to hardware or software.
- Report higher level repair needs to the Director of Technology.
- Maintain records and provide reports on all technology related maintenance activities.
- Installation of computer hardware.
- Maintenance and data entry for student user accounts.
- Uphold state and federal copyright laws.
- Maintain district site licenses.
- Handle software and hardware orders.
- Administer district at-risk programs as they relate to this job to provide for safe working and learning conditions, providing for both physical safety and environmentally safe conditions to work in and learn.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of records, tests, and other items relating to students and staff.
- Maintain security of all buildings by securing doors and windows. Activate security system when last to leave the work site, if applicable.
- Provide for the safety and security of any and all students should a dangerous situation arise.
- Follows universal precautions in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the administration.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Twelve month year – salary, fringe benefits, and work year
to be established by the Board of Education.
