Reports to: Building Principal
Job Function: Provides a well-organized functioning class environment in which
students can take full advantage of the instructional program and
available resource materials.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Under supervision of certified teacher, prepares for classroom activities.
- Works with small groups of students to reinforce material initially introduced by the teacher.
- Assists individual children in need of special education.
- Performs clerical duties.
- Guides independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up by the teacher.
- Sets up audio/visual equipment.
- Assists teacher with non-instructional classroom duties, such as snack, toilet and clothing routines.
- Checks notebooks, corrects papers, and supervises testing and make-up work.
- Assists with the academic program.
- Participates in inservice training programs.
- Understands ADA, IDEA, and State mandates regarding students and parent due process.
- Administer at-risk programs as they relate to this job to provide for safe working and learning conditions providing for both physical safety and environmentally safe conditions to work in and learn.
- Maintains security for all records. Provides for secure placement of such records when away from work site.
- Follows universal precautions in accordance with OSHA standards.
- Other duties and responsibilities as may be assigned by the Principal and/or Superintendent.
Terms of Employment: Salary, working hours, and work year to be established by
the Board of Education.
